Albany library to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday Friday

Mr. Bix and his Borfin, geilings on ceilings, and Thwerlls and Chuggs will fill the Albany Public Library, 1390 Waverly Drive S.E., all day Friday as part of the annual celebration of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Members of the community and library staff will read Dr. Seuss books aloud from the reading throne in the library foyer from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to commemorate Seuss’s 103rd birthday and to celebrate Read Across America Day, an annual reading and literacy holiday.

Yertle the Turtle will arrive around 3 p.m.

Children older than 4 are invited to a party from 4 to 5 p.m. that will feature games, books, Daisy Head Mayzie flower-making art, and a cake.

Those wishing to read can call Scott Keeney at 917-7591 to pick a 20-minute reading time.
