Free classes offered downtown for Learn Something New Day

The Albany Downtown Association will host its third Learn Something New Day on Saturday. Free classes will be held at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the following businesses:

• Albany Parks & Recreation: Adult art and various children’s activities in the morning at the Senior Center, 489 Water Ave. N.W., and in the afternoon at the Swanson Pool activity center.

• Aromatique: Spa products incorporating tea, 333 First Ave. W.

• Communicating Vessels: Relaxation techniques and health tips, 238 Third Ave. S.E.

• Downtown Magic Club: In the Flinn Block, 222 First Ave. W.

• Epowersellers: Prevent eBay fraud, 225 Second Ave. S.W.

• Frogs & Pollywogs: Specialty toys and kiddie crafts, 222 First Ave. W.

• Gray’s Furniture: Easy furniture finishing methods and materials for busy people, 145 Second Ave. S.W.

• Linn Genealogical Society: Discover your past, held in the library in the courthouse basement, Ferry Street (enter at the west door).

• Oregon Sew ’N Vac: Learn to embroider, 401 First Ave. W.

• Quilt Loft: Fast fusibles, 405 First Ave. W.

• Pastime Antiques: Furniture refinishing and appraisals, 317 First Ave. W.

• Pizza King: Perfect Pasta, 231 Lyon St. S.E.

• Scrappin’ Time: Make and take cards, 434 First Ave. W.

• Spearit Beads & Co.: Making earrings (free kit), 331 Second Ave. S.W.

• Star Phoenix Games: Introduction to Magic, the card game, 241 Third Ave. S.W.
