LINN COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Courthouse evacuation — The Linn County Courthouse was evacuated for an hour this morning after officials received a call about a bomb threat at 7:58 a.m. After deputies determined the threat was unfounded, the courthouse was reopened.
The call was made from a pay phone at Two Rivers Market. The suspect allegedly took a bus from Albany to Lebanon, where deputies then spoke with him.
Jeffery M. Wacek, 29, of Lebanon was lodged in the Linn County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and initiating a false report.
ALBANY POLICE
Road rage — Police today were sorting out the details of a road rage incident that occurred around 4:30 this morning.
Here’s what police report happened: A Ford pickup was tailgating a Chevy Suburban on Waverly Drive S.E. The Suburban stopped suddenly and was struck in the back by the pickup. The pickup’s driver got out with a baseball bat but then returned to his vehicle and left, eventually heading north on Geary Street toward Queen Avenue. The Suburban driver followed the pickup and rammed it twice.
Officers caught up with the two drivers near the police station. Both had possible injuries but were not taken to the hospital. The driver of the Suburban was cited for reckless driving.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Theft — An asphalt saw and blade, cell phone and gas card worth nearly $1,500 were reported stolen Wednesday from the 33000 block of Texas Street, east of Corvallis.
Crash — Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Rock Hill Road near Butte Creek Road at 4:30 a.m. today. The driver of the 1992 Honda Prelude, Michael Ryan Collins, 21, of Lebanon, was taken to the Lebanon hospital with minor injuries. His passenger was not injured.
OREGON STATE POLICE
Two-vehicle crash — A Ford Mustang and a Mitsubishi Montero collided at Highway 34 and Seven Mile Lane at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
According to state police, the Ford, driven by Bruce Crosson, 46, of Lebanon, was traveling south and the Mitsubishi, driven by Scott Derrickson, 19, of Sweet Home, was traveling west on Highway 34 when they collided. Derrickson was taken to the Albany hospital with minor injuries. Crosson was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Highway 20 crash — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 east of Albany Thursday afternoon. Driver Casey Marie Pedigo, 16, of Lebanon was taken to the Albany hospital with minor injuries. Both she and a passenger were wearing seatbelts, according to state police.
Traffic collision — There was a traffic collision at about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 34 and Seven Mile Lane.
According to state police, Robert John Alexander, 44, of Sweet Home was traveling south on Seven Mile when he collided with a westbound vehicle on Highway 34. The second vehicle, driven by Srinivas Cherukupall, 30, of Corvallis, struck a bicyclist, Steven Peterson, 52, of Brownsville.
Peterson was taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital with minor injuries. Alexander was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
