Crash closes Pacific Boulevard

Traffic was being detoured off Pacific Boulevard at Hill Street Sunday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Highlander, Albany police said.

The crash occurred at 4:17 p.m. at Pacific and Madison Street.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to another location and then flown by Reach helicopter to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. His condition was unknown Sunday evening.

The Multi-Agency Accident Investigation Team was still working at the scene at about 6 p.m. Pacific Boulevard was expected to be closed for a couple of hours.
