Sweet 16 scavenger hunt

Although pillaging was out, some 39 pirates and crew scavenged throughout Albany Sunday afternoon in celebration of Kody Kinsella’s 16th birthday. The surprise event was planned by his parents, Carl and Kathy Kinsella, and his younger brother, Caleb. Since a sailing ship wasn’t practical, nor readily available, the scallywags were transported by school bus throughout the community and were challenged to a variety of fun tasks such as doing the Hokey Pokey, shopping at the Dollar Tree, and dancing at the Dairy Queen. At top: Kody smiles and holds still while his friend Natalee Dagan, 15, of Albany signs his T-shirt. After the scavenger hunt, party goers were transported to the Kinsella home where Kody’s special birthday present - a yellow Jeep Wrangler - was unveiled.
