Feldkamp recalled to active Navy duty

Jim Feldkamp, a two-time GOP candidate for Congress, says he’s going back to active duty with the Navy.

He ran against Congressman Peter DeFazio in 2004 and 2006.

On Tuesday, an assistant announced that the Navy had recalled Feldkamp. He will be stationed in Washington, D.C., “with duties around the world,” the announcement said.

Feldkamp, an Oregon native, served as a naval aviator during the Gulf War and as an FBI special agent assigned to work both foreign counterintelligence and international terrorism cases. He holds the rank of commander. Feldkamp resigned from the FBI to return to Oregon to run for Congress.

He is a graduate of the Naval War College and earned a master’s degree in International Relations from Catholic University of America.
