Pet photos with Santa will aid SafeHaven

Pet owners and their animals have two opportunities to get their photographs taken with Santa.

“Santa Paws” photos are from noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday and Dec. 2 at Coastal Farm & Home Supply, 1355 Goldfish Farm Road S.E. in Albany.

The cost is $10 for two 5-by-7-inch color photos. Photography and processing services are being donated by The Shutterbug.

Santa will be inside the Coastal Farm store. No appointment is needed. Family members are welcome to pose with pets.

Proceeds will benefit SafeHaven Humane Society, Albany’s nonprofit animal shelter at 33071 Highway 34 S.E. The shelter is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. SafeHaven is closed Wednesdays.

Contact the shelter at 928-2789 or visit www.safehavenhumane.com.

Office buildings site plan up for review

The public is invited to comment by Monday on a site plan review for two 4,199-square-foot office buildings proposed at 120 Hickory St. N.W. in North Albany.

They will be constructed west of the corner of Hickory and Spring Hill Road. The woodframe buildings will have 3,218 square feet on the first floor and another 981 square feet of attic space.

Owners are Steve Hanson CPA and Tony Lewis of Lewis Hanson and Company, an investment firm. Hanson said the buildings will house those businesses and others.

Comments should be made to Evan Fransted at the Community Development Department, Box 490, Albany, OR 97321, or call 917-7598.

This is the fourth year for the event. Santa on a motorcycle will lead the holiday delivery of toys and food to the families about 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. The ride originates in Salem with stops at the Aumsville and Jefferson fire departments.
