Vintage Christmas

Visitors to the museum portion of the Greater Jefferson Community Center this holiday season will see the museum’s first vintage toy Christmas display. Volunteers decorated a tree with antique bubble lights, strings of dominoes and bingo cards printed a half century ago. Beneath the tree are antique toys ranging from a stick horse and a Kewpie doll to a ride-on tractor and an original Howdy Doody doll. Karen Wells, president of the community center’s board of directors, added a pair of skates she found on a recent trip to Arkansas and one of her own childhood dolls. The exhibit can be seen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the museum, 107 N. Main St.
