ALBANY POLICE

Reported mugging — Police took a report of a robbery about 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Waverly Drive near 22nd Avenue S.E.

A 14-year-old boy said he was walking when four people demanded money from him. One of the men in the group of robbers tackled the boy, who then gave them $15. The robbers walked away and the boy called for help.

Wine in pants — Police responded about 2:45 p.m. Saturday to the parking lot at the Circle K store on 34th Avenue S.E. after getting a call that a driver might be intoxicated. Police arrested the driver for driving under the influence of intoxicant.

A male passenger, who was yelling profanities at the officers, was also arrested. While police were detaining him, a bottle of wine fell out of the man’s pants. Police discovered that the man had other items that he had shoplifted from the store.

Teens drinking — Police broke up a party about 1:50 a.m. Sunday at a vacant apartment in the 2600 block of 18th Avenue S.E. Nine teens were cited for trespass, minor in possession and curfew. An adult was cited for trespassing.

Burglary — A garage in the 1600 block of 27th Avenue S.E. was reportedly broken into Saturday. Stolen items included a Mongoose mountain bike, tools, Mossy Oak backpack, Nikon binoculars, Magellan GPS, Remington and Gerber knives, ammunition, Motorola radios, and hunting clothes.

Arrest — Police arrested Willard Lee Ousley, 31, of Albany at his home Saturday. Police had executed a search warrant at his residence the day before but Ousley was not home at the time. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, frequenting a place with controlled substances and felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was booked at the Linn County Jail and released.

Car break-in — A vehicle parked in the 31000 block of Berlin Road was broken into Friday. A digital camera, binoculars, a camouflage jacket, about 10 CDs, and a Gerber knife were stolen. The estimated value was between $800 and $1,000.

Theft from vehicle — A man returned with gas for his vehicle that he had left on Tennessee School Road and found that someone had broken into it. The spare tire was stolen along with paperwork and an ignition interlock.

Victim arrested — Deputies investigated a report Saturday about a Mill City fight in which a man was beat up and taken to Santiam Memorial Hospital in Stayton. The man declined to pursue charges in the incident. However, after being treated at the hospital, he was taken to the Linn County Jail because he was wanted as a suspect in an earlier domestic violence case, according to the sheriff’s office.

LEBANON POLICE

Paintball vandalism — Police are continuing to search for suspects connected to a rash of paintball smatterings left on homes and businesses over the weekend.

According to police reports, windows in a strip mall in the 40 and 50 blocks of E. Airport Road was peppered sometime over the weekend with yellow paintballs, along with a neighboring video store.

Additional incidents occurred at a home in the 900 block of S. Williams Street, homes in the 1000 block of Franklin Street and the 100 block of N. Santiam Highway, and also to a man’s car while he was driving on South Main Street, and at Pizza Hut.

Sgt. Kevin Martinez asks anyone with information about the paintball vandalism to call Lebanon police 258-4305.

Burglary — Police are investigating a burglary reported Saturday morning at Fish Express, 157 W. A St. According to police reports, the burglars kicked in a door, trashed the interior and stole $1,200 in cash from a safe.

Sweet home fire

Camper fire — Fire crews responded to a camper fire at 8:10 p.m. Sunday at 48048 Cascadia Drive. Flames had already engulfed the structure when 14 firefighters, three engines, two water trucks and three support vehicles arrived. Crews returned to the station an hour later. No injuries were reported.
