New Albany orthopedic clinic opens

The new Samaritan Mid-Valley Orthopedics Clinic in North Albany, welcomed Paul Lee, MD, as its first Samaritan-affiliated orthopedic surgeon in mid-February, followed by longtime Albany physicians Stephen Newman, MD, and Rick Stanley, MD. All three surgeons are accepting new patients for general orthopedic and total joint surgeries.

Lee received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a medical degree from Brown University. He interned at Boston University Affiliated Hospitals and completed a junior fellowship at Boston City Hospital. He completed residency training at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals. He also completed an AO International Fellowship in Kantonsspital Chur, Switzerland. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Newman and Stanley were previously in private practice in Albany at Mid-Valley Orthopedics. Newman has practiced in Albany since 1999. He received a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minn. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Stanley has practiced in Albany since 1978. He is committed to patient rehabilitation and helped establish Rebound Physical Therapy in 1989. Stanley received a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., and completed residency training while in the Air Force at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Samaritan Mid-Valley Orthopedics is in the Samaritan Medical and Diagnostics Center at 400 N.W. Hickory Street. Drs. Lee, Newman and Stanley may be reached at 812-5820.
