West Albany finished tied for ninth place with a 328 while South Albany shot a 365 and finished in 18th at the Oregon High School Invitational at Trysting Tree on Wednesday.
Nick Sherwood led the way for the Bulldogs, shooting an 80, while Hans Reimers’ 81 and Eli Mendez’ 82 aided West’s top-ten effort.
South Albany’s Tyler Lomax shot an 89 to lead the Rebels while teammate Erik van Keulen was one stroke behind at 90.
McKenzie’s Casey King was the medalist after shooting a 1-over 73. He also won medalist honors last year.
Defending team champion Marist finished tied for fifth with Westside Christian with at 321.

Huskies place second
Taylor Huschka’s 81 helped the Sweet Home boys golf team to a second-place finish at a Val-Co League tournament at the Agate Beach Golf Course.
The Huskies shot a 348, trailing Newport’s 342.
The Huskies compete at the Phoenix tournament on Wednesday.

Pitcher Kaylee Buckridge helped her own cause by leading off the fifth inning with a double and scoring on a hit by Caitlyn Gilbert to get the Cobras on the board.
Mary Sloan then drove in Gilbert on a single before scoring what would prove to be the winning run on a passed ball.
“When Kaylee led off the inning with that double it really fired people up,” said Central Linn coach Earl Hinkle. “That’s what really got us going.”
Central Linn (4-7 Special District 2) plays at Glendale in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

Natalie Mathers and Lauren Croucher combined for six of the Eagles’ 17 hits and drove in six of the team’s 10 runs.
Mathers also scored three times and logged the save, relieving Erica Traw in the fifth.
“It was quite a birthday night for her,” Harrisburg coach Pat McKibben said of Mathers. “We started off a little slow at the plate but once they started going all the girls managed to hit safely tonight.”
Harrisburg (12-3, 6-1 PacWest Conference) will host Toledo tonight in a make-up game

The Lions lost a pitchers’ duel at Blanchet. The squads combined for only seven hits on the blustery day.
Jefferson held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the sixth, when the Cavaliers scored twice.
