Central Linn’s Richan Modderman will be busy at the state meet after qualifying in the 100, 200 and shot put.
Punching a ticket to state

Central Linn senior Richan Modderman set personal bests to win the 100, 200 and shot put, helping the Cobras to fourth place at the Mountain View Conference track and field district meet in Oakridge.

Modderman’s mark of 36 feet, 4½ inches is third-best in the 2A classification.

Adam Mendoza won the 400 to help the Central Linn boys take third overall.

All athletes who finish first or second in their events or meet qualifying times and marks advance to their respective state meets.

The 3A and 2A meets will be held this Friday and Saturday at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.

At the PacWest Conference meet, also at Western Oregon, Jefferson senior Grant Gagle won the 100, 200 and pole vault and helped the Lions win the 400 relay.

The Jefferson boys won the meet and Santiam Christian was sixth. The Santiam Christian girls were fifth and Jefferson sixth.
