Two teenagers in Albany are facing criminal charges on allegations they had a part in making sex tapes involving underage girls.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, here’s what happened:
The investigation started with a tip from a local teen who heard rumors of the videos’ existence and called the sheriff’s office.
Detectives contacted Jesse Thomas Strickland, 18, who consented to a search of his laptop computer.
Detectives located two videos, each about 40 minutes long. The videos showed Andrew James Pigg, 18, having sex with teenage girls, a different girl in each video.
Pigg allegedly recorded the girls using a camera built into the computer without the girls’ knowledge. The girls were 16 and 17 at the time.
According to the sheriff’s office, Strickland is seen in one of the videos, setting up the camera with Pigg.
It’s unknown if anyone else viewed the videos.
Both men were arrested earlier this month and are free on bail.
Pigg is facing felony charges of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct and encouraging child sexual abuse, and a misdemeanor charge of invasion of personal privacy.
He is scheduled to appear Monday in Linn County Circuit Court. He is represented by Albany attorney Kirk Tibbetts.
The Linn County District Attorney’s Office planned to file similar charges against Strickland this week.
