The Linn-Benton Community College Board of Education selected new officers for 2008-09 at its annual organization meeting in July.
Ron Mason, representative for rural Benton County, was elected chair, replacing Hal Brayton from Lebanon. Dick Running of Albany was elected vice chair.
Mason, of Corvallis, has been on the LBCC Board since 2005. He is a retired LBCC math teacher and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Southern Florida.
Running is an Albany resident and has been on the LBCC board since 2007. He has been a certified public accountant since 1970, and has his own practice. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University and a master’s from the University of Denver.
The LBCC Board of Education governs Linn-Benton Community College.
