Ken Hahn, formerly of Albany, died Aug. 16 in Anchorage, Alaska.

He was born in New Salem, N.D., to Aurthur Charles and Gertrude Inez Cooper Hahn.

Ken served in the Army from 1950 to 1954. He was stationed in Japan and Korea during the Korean conflict.

He lived in Oregon for several years before moving to Alaska where he founded a correctional facility for 13- to 18-year-old male juvenile delinquents. Turning Point Boys Ranch was one of the most successful correctional facilities in Alaska. Ken returned to Oregon in the 1990s and started his own medical transportation company with his brother, Don. In 1997 he returned to Alaska so he and his wife could be close to his step-children and grandchildren. Ken loved to fly his own private plane, rafting and traveling.

Ken is survived by his wife Marjorie Hahn of Anchorage; son Robert Hahn of Anchorage; daughters Kenene Young of Atlanta, Ill., and Cate Hahn of Albany; sister Sandra Hahn of Corvallis; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Don; sister Ardella Robbins; first wife Glenda Maxine Brandenberg Hahn; and son Randall Duane Brandenberg Hahn.

There will be no funeral services. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
