Boys soccer

West Albany 3, Crater 1

West Albany’s boys soccer team took care of Crater, winning 3-1 for its first win of the season.

West struck in the 20th with Jared Lerande’s 20-yard kick. Scoring the other goals for the Bulldogs were Rafael Munoz (60th minute) and Areal Barrintos (76th minute).

West Albany (1-0-1, 0-0 Mid-Willamette Conference) will play Tuesday.

Girls soccer

West Salem JV 4, Jefferson 1

The Jefferson girls soccer team fell to the West Salem JV, 4-1.

Elena Kurian scored the lone goal for the Lions in the 63rd. Goalkeeper Jame Yzaguirre made 10 saves.

Jefferson (0-2, 0-0 PacWest) hosts Gervais at home on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Salem Academy 3, ELCA 1

The Eagles were defeated by Salem Academy in four sets Thursday 16-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.

Maurisa Bates lead East Linn Christian with 10 kills 10 service aces. Megan Knox had 10 digs.

The Eagles (0-4, 0-3 Tri-River Conference) host Blanchet in another conference match-up on Tuesday.
