Amy Jean Burdick, 88, of Lebanon passed away Sunday at Willamette Manor.

She was born in Omaha, Neb., to Charles and Elizabeth (Brown) McClain. In 1938, she moved to Arcadia, Calif., where she met her future husband, Raymond P. Burdick. They were married on Aug. 19, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz. They lived in Southern California, where she helped manage their vinyl plastic business and enjoyed showing their Arabian horses. They moved to Oregon in 1970, living in Talent and Sublimity. Ray passed away March 30, 1978, after 37 years of marriage. Amy moved to Lebanon in 1989.

She enjoyed attending biblical services at Willamette Manor. Amy was the correspondence secretary for the Lebanon Square Circlers Square Dance Club and published the group’s newsletter. She was made an honorary member of the club. She painted pictures with liquid embroidery paints on canvas and shirts.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Swoverland of Lebanon; daughter-in-law Linda Burdick of Bend; seven grandchildren, Phillip, Christine, Tom, Jon, Jeremiah, C.T. and Lindsay; and five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Zane, Drew, Dylan and Caleb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Burdick; son Charles R. Burdick; brothers Howard Bailey, Willard McClain, Edward McClain, and Robert McClain; and sister Yvonne Mattioda.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Willamette Manor, 176 W. C St., Lebanon. Private burial was at the Union Hill Cemetery near Sublimity.
