CORVALLIS — Corvallis-Portland transplants Break As We Fall brings its progressive pop rock back to Oregon State University’s McAlexander Fieldhouse at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. The group will open for California band Eve 6. Break As We Fall will also rock Bombs Away Cafe the following Friday, Oct. 10, with local power trio Hoorah! Hoorah!
The Oct. 3 concert is part of the “Break Down, Rise Up” voter registration event organized by the Associated Students of OSU. University President Ed Ray and football coach Mike Riley plan to attend and give brief speeches.
After their debut self-titled release in May and a performance at the 2008 OSU Battle of the Bands, the funk-rock quintet Break As We Fall took a short hiatus while lead singer Evan Churchill traveled in Europe for six weeks. Following Churchill’s return in July and some lineup changes, the band is again gigging around the valley. The group is embarking on its second CD, due out in spring 2009.
