People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

ALBANY POLICE

Tire slashing — Two tires on a vehicle parked in the 300 block of 27th Avenue S.E. were slashed sometime Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Police took a report.

Alleged neglect — Two adults were cited for second-degree child neglect Tuesday after a toddler wearing only diapers was seen in the street outside their home in the 1800 block of Rye Street S.E. A second child was also outside the home. Other details were not available this morning.

OREGON STATE POLICE

Stolen car found — State police troopers on patrol Sunday spotted a Honda Civic that had been stolen earlier in Albany. The car was found along Langmack Road near Gore Drive outside Lebanon. The vehicle was unoccupied and the inside had been burned.

SCAM WARNING

Fundraising calls — A Lebanon woman called the Democrat-Herald with a warning about what appeared to be a scam.

Here’s what she said happened:

On Sept. 29, she received a call from a Beaverton phone number. The caller claimed to be raising money for St. Jude. The person said they would send her an envelope that she could return with a donation. The woman told them no and when she later called the number it was not in service.

On Monday, the woman got another call from the same number and this time the people said they were raising money for families of fallen soldiers and police officers. When the woman questioned them about being the same people claiming to raise money for St. Jude, they hung up.
