STOCKTON, Calif. n Saori Haruguchi won all three of her individual events on the final day of the TYR Pacific Invitational, leading OSU to a second-place finish behind Washington.
“(It) was a great day,” coach Larry Liebowitz said. “We swam really well. We had season best times and we had a lot of fun and a lot of good racing.”
Haruguchi won the 200 butterfly (2:00.70): Kayla Rawlings was third (2:04.44) and Crescent Valley graduate Brittney Iverson was fourth (2:04.96).
“Saori is finally starting to get back to her good form and she raced really well,” Liebowitz said. “She has worked hard and has tried to do some different things to improve.”
Haruguchi won the 100 butterfly (55.15). Anna Crandall was second (57.07), Rawlings fourth (57.46), Jenni Dole fifth (57.59), Iverson sixth (57.86) and Rachael Wahl eighth (57.95).
Keri Holmstrom, Dole, Rawlings and Iverson placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:37.45). Dole finished in fourth in the 100 backstroke (58.54). Haruguchi won the 100 freestyle (51.54); Crandall was third (52.20). Haruguchi, Crandall, Rawlings and Iverson won the 800 freestyle relay (7:36.14).
OSU swims against Rice at 5 p.m. Friday at Dixon Rec Center.
