Margaret Shaw Harding

March 12, 1914 — Oct. 18, 2008

Margaret Shaw Harding, 94, of Albany died Saturday at Alterra Wynwood.

She was born to Charles and Lola (Kaltrider) Shaw in Peoria, and lived in the Albany area most of her life. She married Bruce Harding on Nov. 26, 1936, in Peoria.

Margaret had a passion for knowledge and taught in the Albany area for 45 years.

She is survived by daughters Jannice Powell of Fairfax, Calif., and Judith and husband Roy Hines of Maple Valley, Wash.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Wilbur Shaw.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at the United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Albany Public Library in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, OR 97321 (www.fisherfuneralhome.com).
