Youth club gets grants for $12,000

LEBANON — The Boys & Girls Club of Lebanon has received grants for $10,000 from The Collins Foundation and $2,000 from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Trust.

A portion of the Collins Foundation funds have been earmarked for the installation of energy-efficient light fixtures, including occupancy sensors in the gym. The club expects to save 62 percent on wattage use, with an estimated annual energy savings topping $900. The Siletz funds will go toward renovations in the clubhouse game room.

Both projects are part of the first phase of a capital campaign to address issues in the facility, eliminate debt, and establish an endowment fund. Future phases will include the addition of gym and program space to meet growing demand.
