Jeffrey Alan Vogler

Aug. 26, 1959 — Nov. 19, 2008

Jeff Vogler, 49, of Albany passed away at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland after a very short illness.

Jeff was born in Salem to Dale and Darleen Vogler. As a boy, Jeff grew up in Salem, Portland, Hillsboro, Albany and Jefferson. He attended school in Albany and Jefferson.

Jeff worked at many different professions, including bartending, cooking, driving and construction. He was always a good and dependable employee. Jeff never lied, cheated or stole. He loved his family and friends more than himself. He had more than the usual amount of friends and many close ones from Jefferson.

Jeff loved going fishing and would go on many fishing trips with his brothers.

He learned to play drums like his brother Pat and went on to be a professional drummer, traveling with a band in the United States and Canada and then playing with local bands.

Jeff spent much of his time with his brothers. He and his brother Randy were roommates off and on for years. We called them Felix and Oscar as they were just like the TV show “The Odd Couple.”

The surgeons at OHSU said Jeff had a really bad vein, but had a beautiful heart.

Jeff is survived by two ex-wives, Peggy and Dorcus; son Jeffrey Dale Vogler; brothers Mike, Pat and Randy; three nieces; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life for Jeff from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Comfort Suites in Albany (near the fair and expo) in the Benton Room. All the Vogler family and friends are most welcome.

Any contributions may be made to the Oregon Health and Science University Foundation through Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, OR 97321.

Special thanks to Fisher Funeral Home (www.fisherfuneralhome.com).
