Otto A. Peter

May 1, 1916 — Nov. 24, 2008

Otto A. Peter, 92, of Lebanon passed away Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Hartington, Neb., to Frank and Elizabeth (Asbra) Peter.

Otto grew up in Nebraska, where he worked on the family farm. He married Mary Uhing in Hartington on June 8, 1937. They moved to Lebanon in 1938. He worked at Bauman’s Lumber for 15 years until retiring.

Mary passed away on Oct. 2, 1980. He married Agnes J. Brown on May 2, 1981, in Lebanon; she passed away on Dec. 31, 2002.

Otto was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and had belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Peter of Lebanon; sisters Francis Willard of Lebanon and Paula Collins of Coquille; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Bernie Uhing of Sweet Home.

Otto was preceded also in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.
