Dorothy M. Gilmore

June 2, 1936 — Dec. 17, 2008

Dorothy M. Gilmore, 72, of Brownsville passed at home on Wednesday.

She was born on June 2, 1936, in Sterling, Kan., to Frank and Annapearl (Meine) Hall. Dorothy moved to Sweet Home at the age of 3. She attended Foster Grade School and Sweet Home High School. She had lived in Brownsville for more than 40 years.

Dorothy married Willie Gilmore in Reno, Nev., in November 1967.

She enjoyed spending time at the Brownsville Senior Center and watching soap operas. Dorothy loved decorating her house for the holidays and also enjoyed crafts and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Gilmore of Brownsville; daughter Leeanna Putney of Brownsville; sons Craig Putney of Albany and Carmen Putney of Sweet Home; sister Shirley Elliott of Lebanon; brother Leroy Hall of Redmond; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by brother Franklin Hall and her parents.

A viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lewis Cemetery in Sweet Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Brownsville Christian Church.
