Louis M. ‘Bud’ Anderson

July 16, 1937 — Dec. 19, 2008

Bud Anderson went home to be with his Lord on Dec. 19 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center after losing his battle with congestive heart failure. He was 71 years old. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and father-in-law.

Bud was born in Albany to Louis M. and Lucille (Hunt) Anderson. He was raised in Albany, and graduated from Albany Union High School in 1955. He enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduation along with two classmates. After returning home from the service in 1959, he attended Oregon State University and worked for The Blaine Clothing Company.

He married Nathalie Carter on Sept. 17, 1961. They were married for 47 years and raised three sons, Randy and Kyle of Albany and Kevin of Tigard.

Bud retired from the Weyerhaeuser paper mill in 2002, and enjoyed playing golf with his three boys and many friends. His joy was watching his grandkids play sports and many trips to the Oregon coast.

He is survived by his wife, Nathalie; his three sons and their wives, Kathi and Jamie Anderson; sister Julie Krein of Bremerton, Wash.; brother Rick Blake of Eugene; sister-in-law Jill Schuler of Albany; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Beverly Lindgren; and daughter-in-law Esther (Duran) Anderson.

Bud will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family. A quiet man who loved unconditionally, he will be remembered for his hugs, devotion and being a great fan of the Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle Mariners.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 17, 2009, at the First Assembly of God, 2817 Santiam Highway S.E., Albany.
