Heritage Mall Marketing Director: Melody Clark, has been promoted to Marketing Director at Heritage Mall. Melody has worked for the mall for two years as customer service manager and previously spent 21 years at Oregon State University.

She is an Oregon native and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon chambers of commerce. Clark replaces Joni Hickey who has been with the mall since the spring of 2006. Hickey is returning with her family to the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon.

New therapy director: Michael Gray, physical therapist at The Corvallis Clinic, has been hired as the new director of The Clinic's Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department. Gray has worked as a physical therapist at The Clinic since 2000. Prior to that, he worked at rehabilitation and acute care clinics in Oregon and Washington, D.C. Gray received his master's in physical therapy in 20000 from Marymount University in Arlington, Va.. He graduated with a master's degree in exercise and sports science in 1996 from Oregon State University, and earned a bachelor's degree in 1994.

Scholarships/Donations

Scholarship recipient: Chelsie Burroughs of Lebanon, is one of seven students who will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Willamette Valley Ag Association. Burroughs is a junior in animal science at Oregon State University. Scholarships were awarded to college-level juniors, seniors and graduate students seeking degrees in ag-related fields at an Oregon university.

Donation: Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital will give $62,500 in the next 12 months to non-profit organizations that support community health initiatives in Lebanon, Sweet Home, and Brownsville. The hospital's Social Accountability Budget donates up to 10 percent of the previous year's net earnings to support community-based initiatives.

Sept. 5: Jean Bonifas, owner of Springboard Productions in Corvallis, will be the guest speaker at the Women in Business luncheon Sept. 5 at the Spring Hill Country Club. Her talk is titled "Emotions in the Workplace: Use 'Em or Lose 'Em?"

Sept. 19: The annual Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Businesses on Display Tradeshow will be held from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center. More than 100 businesses will participate. Call 926-1517 for more information.

Oct. 5: The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce presents the One is Enough Golf Tournament, sponsored by Coastal Farm & Ranch. One club only. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. at the Golf Club of Oregon.
