Clinic adds two: Geary Street Clinic in Albany has added two new providers to its staff. Nancy Dougherty, MD, and Somphone Beasley, FNP, are both accepting new patients. Dougherty grew up on a family farm in Scio, and has returned to Linn County after practicing in Portland for 17 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a medical degree from Glasgow University in Scotland. She completed an internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., and residency training in family medicine at Family Medicine of Spokane. Dougherty is board certified in family medicine and enjoys seeing children and young families in her practice. She can be reached at (541) 812-5655.
Beasley, an Albany native, is back in the area practicing medicine where she was born and raised. She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Linfield College-Good Samaritan in Portland, and a master's degree in nursing from Gonzaga University in Spokane. As a family nurse practitioner, Beasley provides care to the entire family and serves as a primary care provider. Her medical interests include preventive health care and chronic disease care. New focus: Tammy Woodman, a Corvallis real estate appraiser since 1998, who has provided lenders across the country with Real Estate appraisals is now focusing on working directly with homeowners who have a desire to know the real market value of their home. She will be estimating home equity, estate planning, and weighing the pros and cons of a home improvement. Woodman is also a licensed broker in Oregon. Joins mom: Nancy Kneisel, owner of Second Glance, a women's consignement shop at 312 SW Third Street in Corvallis, has recently opened a second shop, Second Glance Annex at 214 SW Jefferson. Jessica Kneisel has joined her mother in business and will be manager and style director of the second downtown location. Jessica is a 1999 graduate of Crescent Valley High School, and a 2003 graduate of Texas Christian University where she studied fashion merchandising. Prior to her position at Second Glance Annex, Jessica worked as a manger for several Nordstrom stores across the country. Both stores are open from 11 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 on Sundays. Excellence award: Carhartt, a Michigan-based manufacturer has recognized Coastal Farm & Ranch of Albany with the Hamilton Carhartt Retailer of Excellence Award. Coastal Farm also was presented with the award in 2002. This year's recognition makes Coastal Farm only the second retailer in the country carrying Carhartt workwear to receive the honor. Named after company founder Hamilton Carhartt, who first began making durable coveralls for railroad engineers in 1889, the Hamilton Carhartt Retailer of Excellence Award is Carhartt's top recognition of retail excellence. Retailers are selected for exhibiting the highest mark in promoting the Carhartt brand through their sales, product positioning and store marketing to increase sales and awareness of the brand.
