Professional designation: Real Estate Brokers Bill and Robbie Nyara have just earned the professional designation, GRI, (Graduate, Realtor Institute) by the Oregon Association of Realtors.
The Realtor Institute is a program of the National Association of Realtors, administered by the State Associations. To receive the GRI designation, brokers must complete three week-long courses and pass six session exams. Curriculum includes real estate finance, law, ethics, taxation and communication skills.
The Nyaras are brokers with Heritage NW Real Estate and members of the Santiam Board of Realtors.

OSHA honoree: Corvallis Tool Company of Philomath has been honored by OSHA through its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). The distinction rewards the company's efforts in overall safety.
Corvallis Tool was notified of its selection in April. The company produces custom industrial machinery and control systems for wood products manufacturers.

Clinical examiner: Dr. Jessica Norris, an optometrist with Eyecare Associates in Albany, recently served as a Clinical Examiner in Portland for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry's (NBEO) Clinical Skills Examination. Candidates for licensure examine a patient at each of four stations in performing 19 clinical skills.
Dr. Norris has been an optometrist for five years. Eyecare Associates also has locations in Corvallis and Lebanon.

Development Director: Jen Butler-Walker has joined Willamette STAGE Company as director of development. She has worked with nonprofits focused on the arts and children for the past several years, most recently as the director of development at the Boys & Girls Club of Albany. She is a graduate student at George Fox University.
Willamette STAGE Company, founded in early 2007, is a nonprofit, private corporation, providing professional live theatre experiences for local artists and audiences.
