Flight instructor certified

Reliant Aviation has announced that John Myhre is Albany's latest certified flight instructor. Myhre is from Oregon City and is a summa cum laude graduate of Central Washington University's Flight Technology program in Ellensburg. Insurance representatives inducted

Farmers Insurance representatives Sharon Pascone and Richard Schroff, Farmers Insurance representatives have been inducted into the Farmers' "Topper Club" and invited to attend the 2009 annual meeting of Farmers' top sales producers in recognition of outstanding sales achievements for 2008. Pascone is an agent in Albany and Schroff is an agent in Corvallis. The Topper Club convention will give these representatives an opportunity to meet with other top Farmers agents and district managers to discuss local, state and national trends and activities affecting the insurance business in their communities.

YMCA announces officers

The Mid-Willamette Family YMCA announced the election of new board members and officers for 2009-10 at its annual Breakfast Celebration at Spring Hill Country Club. New members elected to three-year terms are Frederic J. Edwards, Knight Vision Security; Skip Gray, Gray Farms; Joel Kalberer, Weatherford, Thompson, Cowgill, Black & Schultz; Al McCann, retired (from the Air Force and the state of Oregon); Arthur Meeker, Xtreme Grafx, and Cindy Vinton, Golden West Homes. Officers for the coming year are President Jerry McIntosh, Northwest Leadership Group; Vice President Doug Moore, attorney at law; Treasurer Sylvia Ebbert, Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Expeditions; and Secretary Elaine Eastman, Central Willamette Community Credit Union.

Realtors designated

Two Town & Country Realty professionals in Corvallis have earned special designations. Michelle Fowler recently completed training to receive the Certified Real Estate Investment Specialist, designation and Jill Schuster was granted the Certified Residential Specialist designation. Fowler joins a select group in Oregon, California, Idaho and Washington to have received the CRIS honor. The CRIS consists of four day-long courses addressing investment terms and calculations, creating projections for potential investment properties, and looking at ways to help an investor treat his investment like a business. Schuster completed advanced courses, demonstrated professional expertise in the field of real estate, and completed more than 75 residential transactions with a minimum of $25 million in sales in a five-year period to earn her honor. Less than three percent of real estate brokers nationwide have earned the CRS designation.
