SAGH nurse honored: Nominated by her peers and reviewed by a panel of judges, Rachel Hagfeldt, RN, is the recipient of the 2009 Annette Strixrud Parish Nurse of the Year Award. The award is given to the person who most exemplifies dedication to and passion for parish nursing, demonstrated success in developing healthy ministry in programs and is compassionate, creative and supportive in working with others.

Nominated for her passion and understanding for the homeless, Hagfeldt is an organizing force in promoting faith community nursing in the Albany area. She has been working 10 years with Samaritan Albany General Hospital and is now part of more than 50 parish nurses who serve SAGH and the community at large. Hagfeldt, who also serves Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Albany, will officially receive her award this month.

Installed: Amy Rae Duncan of the Amy Rae Duncan/Alisha Wolfe Real Estate Team at Keller Williams Realty Mid-Willamette in Corvallis was recently installed as the Secretary for the Oregon State Board of Women's Council of Realtors. She is currently the President of the Mid Valley Chapter also. Duncan has been at Keller Williams since receiving her license in 2005. Women's Council of Realtors is a national organization, with a network of successful realtors empowering women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders.

Board members: Central Willamette Community Credit Union elected four members to serve on its Board of Directors at its annual meeting held Oct. 13 at its administrative office in Albany. Elected were incumbents Kathleen Kellay, Salem; Susan Monroe, Salem; Jennifer Moore, Lebanon, and Jean Straight, Salem. Continuing board members are Forrest Barnes, Dan Bedore, James Denham, F. James Healy, Kori Sarrett and Board Associate Mike Holland. Barry Holsworth retired from the board Oct. 1. Central Willamette has offices in Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon and Salem.

New to firm: Michelle Wilson has joined the Corvallis investment and accounting firm of Tax and Wealth Management. Wilson graduated from Oregon State University in 2008 with a degree in accounting. Her main focus is the wealth management area, but she assists with tax preparation as well. The Tax and Wealth Management team integrates professional tax preparation, investment and a comprehensive range of other financial services. It's at 2334 N.W. Lebanon physician: Samaritan Mid-Valley OB/GYN in Lebanon recently welcomed a new physician, Diane Leyba, MD. She is accepting new patients. Leyba earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and a medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. She completed residency training at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

She joins Samaritan from the Irwin Army Community Hospital in Kansas. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, camping, rock climbing and playing the violin. Leyba joins Drs. Kimberly James and Robert Park. Samaritan Mid-Valley OB/GYN can be reached by calling (541) 451-7250.

Store manager: Pete Stofiel has been named the manager of the new Save-A-Lot store in Cottage Grove. Stofiel had worked at Home Depot in Albany and more recently served as manager of the Albany Save-A-Lot before moving to his new position. The new store in Cottage Grove opened Oct. 14.

Lending supervisor: Kathy Waisanen, a 26-year professional in the financial industry, has been named the new centralized lending supervisor for OSU Federal Community Credit Union. Waisanen comes to OSU Federal from U.S. Bank branch management in Eugene. She also worked as a branch manager for SELCO Community Credit Union in Eugene and as a front line supervisor for Safeway Northwest Credit Union in Portland. The centralized lending area manages the approval and processing of all auto and personal lending for OSU Federal. Waisanen will be working out of Corvallis.
