Albany presentation examines burn area

At noon Friday, Bob Ross will present "Beauty in the

B&B Burn" at the Albany Public Library main branch, 1390 Waverly Drive S.E.

The B&B Complex is a 95,000 -acre area of forested land that burned along the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range between Mount Jefferson and Mount Washington during August and September 2003. Since that event, Ross has hiked through the burned forest many times in an effort to learn how plants and animals are adapted to fire and what strategies they employ as they attempt to take over the free space afterward.

He'll blend philosophy, art and science in this photographic presentation.
