The city of Albany is asking for people to comment on the 2008-2012 Capital Improvement Program document.
The financial planning tool identifies capital needs, establishes project priorities, and forecasts expenditures for various programs over the next five fiscal years.
Generally, the CIP contains major projects and programs that have significant impacts on the city's infrastructure.
The City Council, planning commission, and budget committee reviewed the document March 8. Comments from that meeting have been incorporated into the document that is now available for review.
Copies of the CIP are available from Friday, March 23, to Monday, April 23, at the Public Works counter at City Hall, 333 Broadalbin S.W.; at both branches of the Albany Public Library, the downtown Carnegie Library at 302 Ferry St. S.W., and the main library at 1390 Waverly Drive S.E.; and on the city's Web site, www.cityofalbany.net.
For specific project information or questions, contact Jeff Blaine, public works engineering department, at 917-7676.
Written comments must be received by Monday, April 23. Comments should be mailed to Marilyn Smith, Management Assistant/Public Information Officer, City Manager's Office, city of Albany, P. O. Box 490, Albany, OR 97321, or sent by e-mail to
marilyn.smith@cityofalbany.net.
Additional input will be accepted at a public hearing during the Albany City Council meeting April 25 that starts at 7:15 p.m. in the council chambers.
