English Instructor Peter Jensen reads a poem he wrote for Wednesday's grand opening of the new Linn-Benton Community College library and learning center. About 100 people turned out for the event, which included tours of the facility.
Dignitaries included Sen. Frank Morse, R-Albany; Rep. Andy Olson, R-Albany; LBCC President Rita Cavin; LBCC board members Tom Wogaman, Dick Running, Ron Mason and Hal Brayton; and former board member Joseph Novak.
Greenberry Construction of Corvallis was the general contractor for the two-story, 27,700-square-foot center, constructed on the main campus.
Bond funds combined with a $1.5 million anonymous donation helped pay for the $3 million project.
