Quonna Bender, a former office manager at Jeff King Contractor Inc. in Lebanon, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for embezzling money from the company.

Bender, 43, of Aumsville also was ordered to repay her former employer $320,000 in restitution.

Judge Rick McCormick sentenced her Wednesday, and she was taken into custody.

Bender had pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated theft. Other charges were dropped.

Since she had no criminal history, she qualified for probation on the first count, said Deputy District Attorney Keith Stein.

But that first guilty plea triggered a property crime enhancement passed by Oregon voters and the prison sentence of 16 months.

She'll get credit for time served and will be under post-prison supervision for two years after her release.

The district attorney had originally charged Bender with racketeering, money laundering and six counts of aggravated theft.

At the time of her arrest in March, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said deputies had served several search warrants in Marion County and seized two pickups, financial records, vehicle titles, cash and computers.

Bender was represented by Salem attorney Thomas C. Bostwick.
