Albany Police

Dog bite - Guy Knutzen, 43, of Albany went to the hospital after being bitten Thursday by a 6-year-old Rottweiler. Knutzen received stitches on his arm, according to police.

Officers went to talk with the dog's owner. She was cooperative and agreed to quarantine the animal. A relative of the owner, however, began yelling racial comments at the officers and followed them across the street, stopping traffic. J.D. Harris, 50, of Albany was arrested for interfering with police.

Linn County sheriff

Roadside damage - A caller on Thursday reported damage to mailboxes and newspapers boxes along Gates School Road. Five road signs were also torn down. The road department was notified.

Crash - Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at 9 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of S. Ninth Street in Harrisburg.

According to the sheriff's office, Joline Banta, 33, of Sweet Home went off the road and into a resident's yard and fence. Banta had possible injuries and was taken to a hospital. She was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

Crash - Deputies responded at 5:27 p.m. Thursday to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Substation Drive and Highway 99E in Harrisburg.

Driver Ruth Ann Mills of Stayton was taken with minor injuries to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene. The other drivers, Scot Morse of Albany and Jennifer Anthony of Halsey, were not injured, according to the sheriff's office.

Mills was cited for careless driving and Anthony was cited for not having insurance.

Hiker found - Kelli Bryan, a 21-year-old Linfield College student missing in the Olallie Lake area since Tuesday, was found Thursday afternoon when she walked out to the Breitenbush campground north of Highway 22.

Linn County Search and Rescue members were stationed at the campground.

Bryan told searchers that she lost the trail she was hiking on when clouds and fog rolled in and obscured the butte she was using as a landmark. She had food and water and built a shelter and fire each night. She is in good health.

Marion County searchers were assisted by multiple agencies.
