People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

ALBANY POLICE

Car prowls - Police took a report Tuesday about three vehicles in the 800 block of Troon Street N.W. that were broken into. A solid gold wedding band and change was stolen. The vehicles had been left unlocked.

Alleged theft - Captain Joseph Rivera, 24, of Albany was arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree theft and computer crime. Police said the charges stem from a theft from Rivera's employer, the Zumiez store at the Heritage Mall.

SWEET HOME POLICE

Arrow in the roof - A man called police Tuesday to report that a hunting arrow had struck his roof in the 1800 block of Grape Street.

Doesn't want to talk - Police responded around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday to a house in the 1800 block of Ulex Street. A neighbor reported someone beating on the door and thought they might be trying to break in. An officer spoke with the man beating on the door and learned he was trying to talk to his cousin inside the house but the cousin didn't want to talk with him. The man outside the house was told to move on and he did.
