About 1,210 Pacific Power customers in northeast Albany lost power for about 10 minutes this morning, from about 9:25 to 9:35, said company spokeswoman Doris Johnston.
She said a crew working near the Pacific Power office on Old Salem Road ran into problems because of dirt and dust on a line. There was a "flash to another line, which took the power out at the substation at Murder Creek," Johnston said.
A crew made quick repairs at the substation, and the power came back on.
The area affected included Costco, the Albany Water Treatment Plant and parts of Old Salem Road.
