CAP fundraising for Wreaths Across America
The Civil Air Patrol unit in Benton and Linn counties is joining with other Oregon CAPs to raise money for Wreaths Across America, which honors the final resting place of American veterans by placing holiday wreaths on their graves.
Units within the Oregon Wing of the Civil Air Patrol are collecting donations to purchase wreaths, and will place them during a Dec. 13 ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Each wreath costs $15. Donations can be sent to the Camp Adair Flight at P.O. Box 3370, Albany, OR 97321. Funds will be used to sponsor wreaths, with a small percentage benefiting Camp Adair Flight.
Civil Air Patrol is the nonprofit auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Members perform search and rescue missions, disaster relief and counter-drug missions. They also play a role in aerospace education and mentor young people through their CAP cadet programs.
For more information on Camp Adair Flight, call 917-3370.
