Two top country singers and a classic rock group are in the lineup for the Linn County Fair this summer.
The fair staff has just announced the lineup for the 2008 fair to be held July 17-20.
"It's a good variety," said Jan Taylor, Linn County Fair marketing and events manager.
Rock 'n' roll legends The Guess Who will perform Saturday night following the Wild and Woolly show. The group is known for such hits as "American Woman," "These Eyes," "Clap for the Wolfman" and "No Sugar Tonight."
"This rock show is going to be big," said Linn County Fair entertainment director Tom Ordeman.
Thursday night's show, with up-and-comer Craig Morgan, will again be held in conjunction with the city of Albany's River Rhythms concert that day.
Morgan's single "International Harvester" sits at No. 10 on this week's Billboard chart. He's also had top-10 hits with "That's What I Love About Sunday," which reached No. 1, and "Almost Home."
Terri Clark will take the stage Friday night for the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" campaign.
The three-time Canadian Country Music Association Fan's Choice Entertainer of the Year has produced hits with "Better Things to Do," "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" and "Easy on the Eyes."
"Her show is awesome," Ordeman said.
The fair board is taking action to prevent a recurrence of last year, when so many people showed up for the Eddie Money concert the board had to shut the gates for about 15 minutes to make sure there weren't too many on the grounds.
"The fire marshal will be up in a lift," Taylor said. "We have an estimated attendence capacity for the courtyard."
