ALBANY POLICE

Across the freeway - A man ran across Interstate 5 Tuesday morning in an attempt to get away from police.

Around 10:50 a.m., officers tried to stop a Toyota Camry for speeding on Queen Avenue near Geary Street S.E. The Camry driver continued east on Queen and then turned south on Waverly Drive and east on 21st Avenue. The driver stopped at the dead end and ran across the freeway.

A detective found the driver walking near Spicer Wayside.

Police said the man was fleeing because he thought he had a warrant.

He didn't have any warrants.

Jeremy Michael Nixon, 34, of Albany was arrested on charges of attempt to elude by vehicle and foot, and reckless driving. He was also cited for driving while suspended, no insurance and failure to obey a traffic control device. He was lodged in the Linn County Jail on a parole violation.

TV, Xbox theft - An employee at the Rent-A-Center in Albany was helping a customer when he heard the back door open. He went to the door and saw two men walking across the street carrying a 37-inch TV and an Xbox from the store. The employee yelled at the men, who put down the TV and ran in different directions. Police were unable to find them.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF

Arrest - Jodi Faye Kenagy, 42, of Albany was arrested Tuesday on multiple counts of aggravated theft and identity theft. According to the sheriff's office, the charges stem from a case involving stolen checks from Home Solutions, an Albany business where Kenagy once worked.

SWEET HOME POLICE

Carton of cigs to the face - A woman called police Tuesday afternoon saying her neighbor threatened her and hit her in the face with a carton of cigarettes on Sunday. An officer responded and attempted to contact the alleged box thrower, who wasn't at home. The woman was satisfied the incident was documented.

Computer, electronics stolen - On Tuesday, a woman called police from the 1100 block of 18th Avenue to say her computer and other electronics were stolen during the weekend, when she was in the process of moving. An officer responded and took reports for first-degree burglary and second-degree theft.
