A rundown of city council and mayoral position election filings in Halsey, Tangent, Millersburg and Harrisburg as compiled by reporter AnneMarie Knepper:
Halsey
All four candidates up for election or reelection at the city Nov. 4 are running unopposed.
Mayor Marjean Cline was appointed in the spring and is running for a two-year term.
Council member Wade Doerfler is making a bid for his current seat.
Cynthia Choat was appointed to the council this spring and will run to keep her seat.
Kathryn Parker was appointed to the council in July. She is running to keep her seat.
Council positions are four-year terms. Six members plus the mayor make up the city council.
Council members receive a small monthly stipend.
Filings for office in Halsey were due Tuesday.
Tangent
So far all three candidates are running unopposed for their city council and mayor positions in November.
Cindy Bridges has filed for city council member pos. 1, currently held by Tammy Casper, who has decided not to run again.
Dan Leahy is running again for his position 2 seat on the council, and Mayor Seaton McLennan is making a second bid for his position.
Council positions are four year terms and the mayor serves a two-year term.
All positions are unpaid.
The deadline to file for candidacy is 4:30 p.m. today.
Millersburg
Mayor Clayton Wood and council members Linda Boyce and Lisa Metz-Dittmer have all refiled for their positions for the upcoming fall election.
Terry Hill is also running for city council.
The five-member council incudes the mayor.
All candidates run as council members. At the first meeting in January a mayor is elected by the council.
Positions are unpaid.
The deadline to file was Aug. 5.
Harrisburg
Mayor Robert Duncan is running again, and councilors Beverly Roberts and Ron Ritchie have filed to retain their seats on the council.
Roberts was originally appointed to finish Lacey Briggs' term in March 2003. She ran and was elected to her first full council term in 2005.
Ritchie was appointed to finish a term left vacant by Jerry Lakies in November 2005. He also ran and was elected in 2005.
Council member David Gent has opted not to run again, leaving one open seat.
A person may win the seat by a write-in vote. If not, a person may be appointed by the council, said city Recorder Michele Eldridge.
Council members receive $15 per council meeting. They receive nothing for committee meetings and other city business.
Councilors serve four-year terms, and a mayor is elected every other year.
The deadline to file for candidacy was Aug. 21.
