Sale, fund planned to help boy with leukemia
A garage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at 1326 Moraga St. S.E. to benefit a 5-year-old boy with leukemia.
Adam Isaiah Garay was diagnosed with leukemia last October. He is currently awaiting a bone marrow transplant and the family is raising funds for surgery and other medical expenses.
All proceeds from the garage sale will benefit Adam's family. Donations are also being accepted at Bank of America for the Adam Isaiah Garay Medical Fund.

Elks Club creates LBCC scholarship
The Corvallis Elks Club has established the Corvallis Elks Charity Trust Scholarship Endowment Fund through the Linn-Benton Community College Foundation.
The endowment will provide $1,000 scholarships to Benton County students pursuing vocational, professional, technical or job-training and education skills at LBCC. Scholarships will be available starting fall term.
Applicants must show financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Scholarship dollars may be used for tuition, books, fees, living expenses, childcare and other special needs.

LBCC Benton Center to hold pottery sale, show
The LBCC Benton Center Studio Sale and Show will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 8 on the North Patio outside of the O. Robert Adams Ceramic Studio at the Benton Center, 757 N.W. Polk Ave., Corvallis.
Ceramic faculty, students and instructional assistants from LBCC will showcase their work and offer raku, high fire, salt and wood fire pieces for sale. Selection includes vases, bakeware, decorative items, useable tableware, small sculptures and more. Prices range from affordable to collectible. A portion of all sales is used to purchase studio equipment.

Blood drive planned at community center
A blood drive will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. June 7 at the Sweet Home Community Center, 880 18th St.
The drive is to honor Texas Driggs and is sponsored by St. Francis Episcopal Church.
