People arrested are innocent unless proved otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
ALBANY POLICE
Drug search - Police executed a narcotics search warrant Friday at 1805 Clay St. S.E., apartment 4.
Police said they found three-fourths of an ounce of methamphetamine, prescription medication, about $5,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, scales, video surveillance equipment, and a Dell laptop that had been reported stolen last February in Albany.
Police arrested Jaime Contreras, 31, and Cassandra Anita Martinez, 26, both of Albany, on charges of delivery and possession of meth, and frequenting a place with controlled substances.
Romero Heriberto Delgadillo, 29, of Albany was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. Police said he had fraudulent Social Security and resident alien cards.
All three people were lodged in the Linn County Jail.
The search was the result of an ongoing investigation. The Linn County Sheriff's Office assisted.
Burglary - Two large-screen plasma televisions and other equipment worth more than $750 were reported stolen Friday morning from a real estate office in the 500 block of Ellsworth Street S.W. Police are investigating.
Stolen vehicle - A 1991 Chrysler LeBaron, gray, two-door, was reported stolen Friday from the 100 block of Broadalbin Street S.W. No listed value.
Pacific Boulevard crash - Gregory Lee Neuschwander, 56, of Albany, who was struck by a vehicle on Pacific Boulevard Sunday afternoon, was in fair condition this morning at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
According to police, Neuschwander was crossing northbound at the intersection of Pacific and Madison Street, where there is no crosswalk or lights, when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Highlander driven by Douglas Wayne McGuire, 37, of Albany.
Police said alcohol was a contributing factor on the part of Neuschwander. He was taken by ambulance to West Albany High School and then flown by REACH helicopter to the Corvallis hospital.
Neuschwander had been living at Albany Helping Hands homeless shelter, according to police.
McGuire and two children riding in his vehicle were not injured.
Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control. Pacific Boulevard was closed between Hill and Madison for about three hours while the Multi Agency Accident Investigation Team worked at the scene.
Collision - Police responded about 9 a.m. Saturday to a two-car collision at the intersection of 53rd Avenue and Pacific Boulevard.
Police said one vehicle was turning north from 53rd onto Pacific and a vehicle behind it failed to stop in time, rear-ending the first car.
No one required hospitalization, but medics came to evaluate the drivers.
The second driver, Travis Clark, 40, Albany, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
