ALBANY POLICE

Street fight - A fight broke out outside a downtown bar around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. Police said the dispute began over a beanie that someone believed was stolen. By the time police arrived, there were about 20 people outside the bar and the fight had moved to Ellsworth Street between First and Second avenues. Police told five men to get on the ground and they were each arrested for disorderly conduct. Another man was taken to the Albany hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He was also cited for disorderly conduct. Traffic was temporarily diverted from Ellsworth Street while police finished working.

Private indecency - A 40-year-old Albany man was arrested Sunday morning after police received a call that he had been seen masturbating at his apartment window in the 700 block of Queen Avenue S.E. The man denied the allegation. He was taken to the Linn County Jail on a charge of private indecency.

Burglary - On Saturday, someone stole speakers and other items from a garage at a home in the 2800 block of Jackson Street S.E. Police took a report.

Minors and alcohol - Police responded to a call early this morning about minors drinking alcohol at a home in the 2500 block of Sherman Street S.E. A 23-year-old woman was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor, furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Three teenagers were cited for various charges of minor in possession of alcohol and tobacco and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF

Shooting - A 17-year-old boy died of a gunshot wound Sunday at his home in the 51500 block of Gates Bridge E., Gates. The sheriff's office is investigating the incident as a suicide.

Sweet Home police

Food fight - Police received a call at 12:33 p.m. Sunday about a disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of Poplar Street. A responding officer determined that an argument had turned into a food fight. The people agreed to try and get along.

BBs - A caller reported Saturday that someone had shot BBs through his window in the 2200 block of Main Street. The caller thought it might have been the neighbor kids and was going to try and work it out with them.
