A pile driver operated by Lonnie Kronsteiner, vice president of West Coast Construction of Coos Bay, pounds pilings into Cheadle Lake in Lebanon as part of a handicapped-accessible fishing platform. The project is under the direction of the Albany Chapter Association of Northwest Steelheaders, which hopes to have the platform done by September. Spokesman Don Wenzel said members will hold weekly work parties at Cheadle Lake to finish the job. Wenzel said a grant of about $9,800 from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife's Recreation Enhancement Fund is helping fund the work.
