ALBANY POLICE
Theft update - Police served a search warrant Wednesday afternoon and recovered items that had been stolen earlier from a 29-foot travel trailer.
Thomas Leslie Ellwood, 40, had been arrested Tuesday in connection with the theft. Police said he had allowed an acquaintance to park the trailer on his property and then removed up to $100,000 worth of antiques and other items from the trailer.
Detectives said they searched Ellwood's house, which is in the 1800 block of 29th Ave. S.E., and found some of the stolen items, including books, a painting, figurines and furniture. They were returned to the owner.
Ellwood was arraigned Wednesday in Linn County Circuit Court on charges of aggravated theft, first-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Fake $20s - Police received a call at 1:11 a.m. today from an employee at a convenience store on Queen Avenue S.E. who said she had received five counterfeit $20 bills. No other details were available this morning.
SWEET HOME POLICE
Paintballs - A woman called police at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday and said people across the street in the 2400 block of Long Street had shot paintballs and hit her apartment. She also said that she had almost been hit by the paintballs. An officer responded to the area and arrested a 19-year-old man for reckless endangering and also cited him for a city ordinance violation.
Tire slashing - Someone slashed the tires on a trailer parked in the 600 block of Main Street. Police took a report Wednesday evening.
MARION COUNTY SHERIFF
Crash update - Robert Allen Moss of Jefferson was the driver who was injured in a single-vehicle crash around 8 p.m. Tuesday on Jefferson-Marion Road near Parrish Gap Road.
According to the sheriff's office, Moss was driving south in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup when he lost control of his vehicle and went into an irrigation ditch. Moss was taken to the Corvallis hospital, where he was in fair condition this morning.
OREGON STATE POLICE
Freeway crash - Traffic was slowed this morning following a car crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Santiam River rest area. Troopers were still working at the scene late this morning.
