Albany Police

In disarray - Someone climbed over a fence into a backyard in the 1400 block of Takena Street S.E. and damaged artificial flowers and potted plants, turned on a hose and moved everything in the yard. Nothing was taken nor left behind during the caper reported about 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Mini wrecking yard - Two boats, a camper and a vehicle in a backyard in the 800 block of Ferry St. S.W. that can be seen from the street and three vehicles on Ninth Avenue registered to the same to the address were reported as an eyesore about 3 p.m. Monday. Officers left a note requesting that the property owner call police.

Dead rabbits - A person who had rented a house in the 3300 block of Ermine St. S.E. to a tenant told police about 3:15 p.m. Monday the tenant had moved out, leaving dead rabbits in a hutch in the backyard. They appeared to have been dead four to six weeks as they were dry and mummified. Trash and debris were left behind.

Strange behavior - A man road a bike to a home in the 1400 block of Calapooia Street S.W. just after midnight Saturday and sat down in the open garage. The residents discovered him and told him to leave. The man asked them if he could use the bathroom. When they refused, he allegedly urinated on their fence. The residents then called police and the man ran off, leaving the bike. Ten minutes later, the residents found the man at the corner of Pacific Boulevard and Calapooia Street and detained him until police arrived. Police came to the home and found the bike had been stolen in Corvallis. The man also had a meth pipe on him.

Chaylan Dale Tosta, 27, of Albany was arrested on a charges of meth possession, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree criminal trespassing and first-degree theft by receiving.

DUII arrest - A man drove into a fence and parked car after he didn't make the turn north onto Geary Street S.E. from Santiam Highway. The black 1996 Nissan Pathfinder collided with the parked grey 1991 GMC Suburban around 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Geary Street.

Anthony Lamar Williams, 26, of Albany was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants-alcohol, reckless driving and first-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF

Power out - The driver of a hay truck attempted to make a 90-degree turn in the 41000 block of Oupor Drive east of Scio about 8:15 a.m. Monday. He struck a power pole, shearing it off. The driver, a McMinnville man, exchanged information with a Pacific Power crew that worked to restore power. No injuries were reported.

Items taken - A person went to the Linn County Sheriff's Office about 9 a.m. Monday to report that several items had been taken from his property in the 21000 block of Coburg Road: A Craftsman paint sprayer, welding tanks, 10 antique cameras and four sets of SKS brand sockets, valued together at $1,760.

Fifth-wheel entered - A man told sheriff's deputies about 3:40 p.m. Monday that someone broke into his fifth-wheel parked in the 700 block of Isabella Street in Lebanon, taking a roto hammer, DeWalt saw, Porter cable saw, Makita power miter saw, Makita compressor, cordless drill, cordless saw, flatscreen TV/VCR combination, Sylvania VCR/DVDR, nail gun, Colby DVD player, Phillips TV/DVD, HP computer, router and bits, tool boxes filled with tools, grinder and jig saw valued together at more than $2,225.

Good Samaritan threatened - A white Camaro containing four men drove through a fence on Gates Bridge East in the Santiam Canyon, ending up in a field about 11 p.m. Monday. When a passerby stopped to ask if anyone was hurt, the good Samaritan was threatened with a beating.

Man airlifted - A 37-year-old man was extricated from his vehicle in the 45000 block of Santiam Highway near Camp Attitude after driving into a ditch about 6:30 p.m. Monday. He was bleeding, unconscious and gurgling blood from the mouth. The patient was loaded into a REACH air ambulance and taken to the hospital in Corvallis. No other information was available.

Oregon State Police

Failure to yield - A silver Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Jean L. Peterman, 85, of Brownsville turned into the path of a white Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Bradley Eugene Pitts, 42, of Sweet Home, which was traveling east on Highway 20 on Friday afternoon at about 3:30. The PT Cruiser then spun into the westbound lanes and was struck by a westbound blue GMC pickup driven by David L. Hyde, 52, of Philomath. The drivers of the PT Cruiser and Cavalier were taken to the Lebanon hospital with minor injuries. Peterman was cited for failure to yield right of way.
