ROSEBURG (AP) - The Rattle Fire in the Boulder Creek Wilderness on the Umpqua National Forest grew to more than 400 acres but was burning away from the community of Dry Creek. The Lonesome Fire on the Rogue-Umpqua Divide was at 495 acres.
Other fires reported Sunday included the Summit Springs Fire at about 1,960 acres, north of Sisters, but it was reported burning within fire lines and 45 percent controlled.
The Mid-Fork Complex of from 75 to 100 fires was burning on 220 acres in the Oakridge area.
Fire officials said several other fires in the state are being monitored but allowed to burn as a resource control measure to remove combustible undergrowth.
