People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
ALBANY POLICE
Screaming good time - A man called police at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday after hearing screaming coming from a nearby residence in the 2600 block of 18th Avenue S.E. When a police officer went to the home, he found about 15 women having a bachelorette party. They were screaming as presents were being opened and preparing for a stripper to arrive. Police asked the party-goers to close windows and doors so they wouldn't disturb the neighbors.
Drugs - Police responded shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday to a call about people doing drugs inside a car parked at a storage facility on Queen Avenue S.W. No one was using drugs when police showed up. The officers searched two men, their car and a storage unit they were renting. The two men were cited for possession of methamphetamine after the officers found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of meth. A drug-sniffing dog and its handler from the Linn County Sheriff's Office assisted.
Give me - A woman was arrested late Saturday evening after allegedly walking into a stranger's home and making demands.
According to police, the woman went into a house in the 1500 block of Santiam Road S.E., where a family was watching TV and drinking coffee. The woman told them to give her beer and a cigarette and then used profanity before leaving.
An officer found the woman near Ninth Avenue and Geary Street S.E. Christine Ann Parmalee, 44, of Albany was taken to the Linn County Jail on a charge of criminal trespass.
Police have had several recent contacts with Parmalee. Earlier on Saturday, at about 3:15 a.m., police told Parmalee to move on after getting a complaint about her standing in the drive-through at a fast food business.
Hit-and-run - Police took a report of a hit-and-run accident at 1:45 p.m. Saturday on Geary Street near 34th Avenue S.E. A caller told police the vehicle went up on the curb, took out an advertisement sign and school crossing sign, and then sped off. Police were not able to get a description of the vehicle.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Crash - A woman was taken to the Lebanon hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday on Plagman Drive. According to the sheriff's office, Patricia M. Halfacre, 43, of Lebanon was driving a Dodge pickup when the vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. Halfacre was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.
Patrol car hit - A deputy's patrol car was hit from behind by another vehicle on Highway 126 near the Highway 20 intersection at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
According to the sheriff's office, the deputy was turning into the Fish Lake Guard Station when he noticed the car behind him was not slowing down. The deputy tried to get out of the other vehicle's way but was hit.
The other driver said he saw the patrol car's turn signal and brake lights. He slowed down, but thought the deputy wanted him to go around, and said that the deputy then pulled in front of him. No one was injured. The driver, who was from Springfield and on his way to Sisters, was cited for careless driving.
ALBANY FIRE
House fire - Firefighters responded at 1:33 a.m. Saturday to a house fire at 1351 27th Ave. S.E. Fire officials said the cause of the blaze was a candle that had been left unattended. The fire caused about $15,000 damage to the structure and another $8,000 damage to contents.
